What is the program called that lets you add dynamic content like the weather to your desktop?

Yeah i do,

The icons on the bottom on the screen, as well as the weather thingy, were created with a program called AveDesk, what's awesome about AveDesk is that, when paired with a plugin called Sysstats, anyone can create any kind of plugin for AveDesk, like the weather report plugin I have on right now, one can find more info on http://www.dockex.com

The icons on the top were created with a program called YzDock, YzDock mimics the extremely awesome MacOSX Dock, but the only gripe is that one has to google around to find a download

I hear from someone that Konfabulator is sort of the better program out there, there is a greater variety of plugins and "widgets" to play around.....

Or you can go to http://gallery.gfxed.com/index.php and do a little search query and find 'them icons.....now the blue and the green icons i made them myself by modifying the original orange png, LOL,I recently bought the HL platinum collection, which had Opposing Force and Blue Shift...so modified the icon color....the CS icon and CS:S icon are in that site too.....all pngs are 128x128 in size so even HmniQ can display 'them icons in it's fullest of glory.......LOL

The link to the FREEWARE version of Object dock is HERE I have the "Enhanced version" of Object Dock which has extra abilities such as multiple docks at the same time and nice flyout menus , lol without buying it LOLOL >_>_ <_<.........as for the overall look of my windows and buttons, i don't use windows blinds, i just use visual styles and some other software to enhance the look of everything.... the link to download the visual style is HERE YOU WILL NEED EITHER EXTRA SOFTWARE TO INSTALL THE VISUAL STYLE OR PATCH THE UXTHEME.DLL FILE, more info at http://www.neowin.net/forum/

Umm ok I downloaded the uxtheme multi patcher from the forums I installed it I put the windows vista in the themes folder and it still doesnt show up when I go to change from winxp to vista.

my desktop.. I made the walpaper... the theme.. yep thats my pretty desktop

hmmm......strange.....assuming you correctly installed the uxtheme patcher, the theme should be installed like this:

C:\Windows\Resources\Themes\Vista\Vista.msstyles

you must make sure that the folder is named EXACTLY the same as the .msstyle file that's inside of it.

Also make sure that with the .msstyle file there is also a folder named "Shell", some msstyles need the files inside the "Shell" folder to work, the Vista style needs the "Shell" folder to work.

Also some msstyles come with fonts, you have to install them in order for the text and whatnot to be displayed correctly

if it still doesn't work then, then the easy way is to just go to the .msstyle file and double click on it, doing so will launch the "display properties" dialog box, it'll give you a preview of the theme and just press the apply button to apply the theme.

Some themes, like the vista style, have extra color schemes and the ability to compact the start menu, and display text in a different font

Hey Hi Bob, i am also iOxErapH, but BlackEagle is my CS alias, iOxErapH is for Quake III Arena (INSTA-RAIL IS AWESOME!) and BlackEagle is for CS

I've been playing CS for like 4 months now, i couldn't play cs before because i had a crappy computer (pentium 3 500 mhz, 256 megs of sdram, voodoo 3 with 16 megs of ram), i was a bit poor and with about 250 dollars and some luck i built me that computer out of spare parts from Goodwill, but since i have started working, i now have an Awesome'O Comput0r (specs are right there on my screenshot), now i think that cs:s is extremely awesome, i always join the CT team, and i kinda hate it when they put me with the T's, i get owned a bit, but i still play anyway, i am getting better.

I have been a member since december 04, but i rarely post anything.

I would like to know where you got the enhanced version of object dock for free...I tried it on limewire and it f***** up my computer.

I did too tried to download it on limewire pro (which i "downloaded" too for free), and yes it did fluck up my computer (BEWARE OF "INNO SETUP" .exes they'll install programs that won't let you load regedit, taskmgr.exe and will install a load of sheetzna on your shared folders of P2P programs!), if your computer is still flucked up, you should try and run ad-aware SE, with latest database, i got rid of that stuff with that.

That wierd program this for the dlls made my comp look like windows 98.

WEll this sucks. I found a link for object dock plus...but unfortunatly my computer is a little too slow for it. I cant run mozilla and object dock at the same time w/out lagging my compter. So it will have to wait till I get a faster comp.

Why do you have a linspire Icon, and where did ya get the PSP one?

oh well i was a bit lazy trying to find a limewire pro png icon so i just used the linspire one......about the psp icon, i got it at deviantart.com, but i guess i'll just post it here for the sake of convinience.....come on people! everyone post their screenshots! :D

how do you make custom desktops like that?

well i use a variety of apps and images that in some way or another customize the way stuff looks on the desktop

examples would be windowblinds, avedesk, object dock, windowfx, styler, konfabulator, yztoolbar, iconpackager, cursorxp, logonstudio, visual styles :)

o thanx, but no thanx thats way too many programs and what not. Ill just stick with my almost naked picture of brooke burke, i think thats better than anything i could make anyways
